(Reflections on how we treat and are treated by others)
If your heaven's on fire would it seem to be,
the end of it all for you and me?
All the roses are turning black, at the end of the day
The night is closing in, did I hear you say:
“There's a blood stain where my heart used to be”
“There's footprints where you walked over me”
“and this might be, the end of it all”
Would you take it all back, on Judgment Day?
If you knew what was coming, would you change your ways?
Or would you hide behind, the cards you've been dealt?
Do you ever feel, what the others felt?
There's a blood stain where my heart used to be
There's footprints where you walked over me
And this might be, the end of it . . .
All my life, I tried to be a better man
But it was far beyond, the grasp of my hands
Never holding on, for more than just a day
All the things I really needed,
they had a price I wouldn't pay
This might be the end of it all
If your heaven's on fire would your angels fall?
And would you hear our Maker call:
“this might be the end of it all”
Take my hand, don't be afraid
We'll walk through the fire together, into the light of a new day
If it's the end of it all, let's stay together
We'll fall to our knees and pray that this is not the end
. . . might not be the end . . . this is not the end . . . of it all
This is not the end, the end of it all
So tell me, will you stand or fall?
All my life, I tried to find a better way
But all the things I really needed . . . They had a price I wouldn't pay
